The MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition
The MIT 100K Entrepreneurship Competition is the leading business plan competition in the world. The competition was founded in 1990 to encourage students and researchers in the MIT community to act on their talent, ideas and energy to produce tomorrow's leading firms. Entirely student-managed, the competition has produced hundreds of successful ventures that have created value and employment.

Agenda: 7 track winners will present thier business plans. The Audience will select a $10,000 Audience Award Winner using thier cell phones
End Goal: 1 team will be awarded $100,000 cash

MIT $100K BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION - KEY DATES AND PROCESS
There has been some confusion around the specific events that will take place as teams work through the Business Plan Competition process this spring toward the goal of Grand Prize Winner in May. Please find below an outline of the BPC below.

BPC Mentors Team Dinner |
Semi-finalist teams attend a special dinner and meet their assigned venture capital mentor and legal mentor. Teams receive details on their $1,000 expense account. (Marriott 7-9pm) Invite only. Must attend. |

3/13 to 5/1 |
Team meetings with venture and legal mentors |
Semi-finalist teams must meet once each with their legal and venture mentors. This will be invaluable for teams in preparing their full length business plan entries. Failure to attend these meetings will result in cancellation of the expense account, and may result in disqualification from the competition. |

Full length business plan submission due |
Semi-finalist teams must submit a full length business plan (max = 20 pgs including appendices). |

5/8 |
Track Judging Finals* |
Semi-finalist Teams present in front of the judging panels for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Any visual/audio aids (props, video, PowerPoint, etc.) are permitted (3 – 6pm). Judges will identify the Track Winner in the following couple of days. |

Celebrity Grand Prize Judging Finals* |
Track Winners will be announced. Each Track Winner presents in front of a celebrity judging panel of esteemed entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. Track Winners will receive a check for at least $10,000 cash. (3 - 6pm) |

Business Plan Competition Award Ceremony |
Each of the 7 Track Winners will present a 3 minute public version of their business plan to the live audience. The Grand Prize winning team is announced with great fanfare and receives a check for $100,000 cash. (7pm+) |

The MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition is designed to encourage students and researchers in the MIT community to act on their talent, ideas and energy to produce tomorrow's leading firms. Now in its 18th year, the Competition has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and business startup services to outstanding teams of student entrepreneurs who submitted business plans for new ventures showing significant business potential. The refinement process of the Competition, its network of mentors, investors and potential partners, and the cash prizes awarded have helped many of these teams to act on their dreams and build their own companies and fortunes.

We are now in the Business Plan Contest. 35 MIT Student teams have been selected from 232 eligible teams to compete for the $100,000 cash grand prize.
